Requirements and terms

 

 

- be a student of the age 18-26 years old;

- be a full-time student of a university;

- not be at your last course of studying(for those we have other programs);

- speak English fluently (at least, an intermediate level). It does not matter how quickly you can speak the language, the most important is that you can have a talk with the Consul of the American Embassy and with your employer after your arrival to the States. After all, one of the goals of the program Work and Travel USA is to learn English better, so initially it would not be very illogical to demand from the participant a good language level. But you will have to remember English, and you should do it soundly, as the possibility to receive visa in the American Embassy and your future salary depends on your language level;

- have 2-4 months which are free from any obligations (you are to come back home not later than September, 1st );

- will to spend your summer not only interesting (for example, in one of the many beaches or amusement parks ) , but with a benefit (to make your level of English better, to travel and to earn money, of course);

- not have a desire to stay for long or for ever in the country which greets you. See, it is not a goal of this program of the cultural exchange, the program does not allow you to stay in the USA longer than it is provided by the rules of the program Work and Travel USA and the current law of the States;

 

In case of violation of the rules of the program, a participant will lose not only the status of the Exchange Visitor, but is also in danger of permanently closing the door in front of him and all his relatives that says America./that America will be closed as for him as for his relatives since then.

 

 

 

If you fit for all the requirements of Work and Travel USA, it is the very time to begin the registration process. 

Many students believe that they can come for an interview in the office of our company in April-May, quickly obtain all the documents and depart in early June ... Unfortunately, it is not so! 

The process of registration for the program Work and Travel USA takes about 3-4 months. Count yourself: the design of a contract and the selection of an American employer typically take from one week to one month, then from 2 weeks to 1.5 months takes the process of work permits (form DS-2019), following 3 weeks to 2 months may take a procedure of obtaining J-1 visa at the U.S. Embassy, such way of making all the necessary documents to the program may need up to a total for 4 months. Thus, it is necessary to take into consideration that the U.S. Embassy completes the reception of documents on the program Work and Travel USA usually in mid-April. 

Therefore, the company «Work and Travel» begins the design of a program in September and ends receiving documents usually in late December. Sometimes, the students’ admission to the program can be extended (in the presence of availability of seats) and you can apply before the end of February.
